Once again, it’s time for the Annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show and, of course, I’ll be attending because I absolutely love checking out the Yachts. Ft. Lauderdale is the Yachting Capital of the World and the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show is the largest in the world, so pairing the two is quite fitting. The location of the Show will cover more than 3 Million Square Feet of space over 5 locations, including the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Las Olas Marina, Las Olas Riverfront, Hall of Fame Marina, and Ft. Lauderdale Hilton Marina, and Broward County Convention Center.
The Boat Show will be held October 28, 2010 – November 1, 2010 and you can visit their Website for full details regarding the daily Schedule and to purchase Tickets.
Besides the Event being attended by ~150,000 people, this time of year is also “Season”, during which our population in South Florida expands significantly with Visitors from all around the World who are here to enjoy our Weather and Lifestyle. The local Hotels, private Residences available for Rental, and Condos are always at very high occupancy levels during this time of year through March and April of the following year.
This year, Boat Show weekend in South Florida will be even more crowded because the Miami Heat’s Home Game opener with the “Big 3” against Orlando is the same weekend and will be held on Friday, October 29th (which I will be watching from Home since Tickets weren’t available when I tried to purchase them). Having both Events during the same weekend takes the meaning of “sold out” to a whole ‘nother level and to say that South Florida will be “insane” that weekend is a serious understatement!
Let the fun begin!
