New Oceanfront Construction in Pompano Beach?
It seems likely that new Townhomes, a Condominium, or Hotel will be constructed on the Beach in Pompano Beach. South Florida Business Journal reported that 730 N. Ocean Blvd. in Pompano Beach was purchased for $10,500,000 Cash in a recent sale–sold to Fernbrook Florida, an affiliate of Canada’s Fernbrook Homes.
730 N. Ocean Blvd. is located directly on the Beach and also includes a small parcel of Land across the Street from the Beach. 730 N. Ocean Blvd. is zoned Residential and is located between Admiralty Towers Condo (750 N. Ocean Blvd.) and The Breakers Condo (710 N. Ocean Blvd), both of which were constructed in 1970.
With very limited availability of Oceanfront Land for construction, new Condo Construction in Pompano Beach has been almost non-existent. The most recently constructed direct Oceanfront Condo on the Beach in Pompano Beach is Luna Ocean Residences Condo, which has only 36 Units and was constructed in 2007. Prior to that, the most recently built Condo directly on the Beach in Pompano was constructed in 1988 (1500 Ocean Club Condo at 1500 N. Ocean Blvd.).
The Plaza at Oceanside Pompano Beach and Sonata Beach Club were both constructed in 2008 and are in the Beach area with Ocean views from many Units, but are both located across the Street from the Beach. Hillsboro Bay by the Sea is also of fairly recent construction, built in 1999, and is directly on the Beach in Pompano Beach, but is a Community of Oceanfront Townhomes, not Condos.
The possibility of new Oceanfront Construction in Pompano Beach is exciting news and I’ll post future updates when I receive them. New Construction will be in great company with Pompano Beach’s Pier Development plans that are approved and currently underway for construction of 40,000 Square Feet of Retail, Restaurants, and a public Plaza for events, and more.
