New Oceanfront Condo in Ft. Lauderdale
Plans have finally been announced for development on the site of Ireland’s Inn in Ft. Lauderdale! Located direct Oceanfront on the Beach, Ireland’s Inn opened in 1965 and suspended operations in 2007.
Redevelopment plans are for the Related Group to build a 170-Unit Luxury Condo, Spa, and Restaurants. Ireland’s Inn site and 15 adjacent parcels are part of the redevelopment site and demolition of the 5 Buildings comprising Ireland’s Inn will begin soon.
The new Condo will be an exciting and very significant addition to Ft. Lauderdale’s Condos and sales are expected to begin before the end of this year. The location is adjacent to The Palms Condo on the South side of the Lot and the Lauderdale Beach Community on the North side. Lauderdale Beach is Ft. Lauderdale’s only Community of Single Family Beachfront Homes.
Although other new Condos are currently being built in Ft. Lauderdale, none are directly on the Beach. Within the last 16 years (since 1998), only 4 direct Oceanfront Condos were built in Ft. Lauderdale, so Buyers interested in recently constructed direct Oceanfront Condos have few Ft. Lauderdale choices to consider if they would like to live directly on the Beach instead of across the Street from it or in another other location that’s within close proximity to the Beach. Of the 4 Oceanfront Condos that were built in Ft. Lauderdale within the last 16 years (L’Hermitage, The Palms, L’Ambiance, and Coconut Grove Residences), Coconut Grove Residences–built in 2007–is the most recently constructed of the 4 and is a boutique style Building with a total of only 63 Units.
When additional details are released, I will post updates. Below are Google Earth Aerial views of the location.
